If you’re unsure whether physiotherapy is right for you, we’re here to help. We now offer Free Discovery Sessions – either a 20-minute in-clinic session or a 15-minute phone call. These are completely commitment-free and give you the chance to:
Please note, this is not a formal assessment and no treatment will be provided during the session. Instead, it’s an opportunity to get clarity and confidence about your next steps before committing to an appointment.
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed in the waiting area and taken through to the clinic room. Your physiotherapist will begin by reviewing your completed Client Intake Form (medical form), which you will have received and filled in electronically before your appointment. If you experienced any difficulties completing the form, don’t worry—your physiotherapist will go through it with you during your session.
They will ask questions about your medical history and the injury or condition you’re seeking help for. If you’ve booked an Initial Assessment or Performance Initial Assessment and would like to include acupuncture, dry cupping, or instrument-assisted soft tissue massage (where appropriate), your physiotherapist will confirm that you’ve read the patient information leaflet sent to you and that your consent form has been completed.
Next, your physiotherapist will carry out a physical examination and perform any necessary special tests to gain a full understanding of your injury or condition.
Following this, your physiotherapist will discuss their findings with you, outline a treatment plan, and provide advice and/or treatment during your first session.
If you have booked an appointment for a joint or tendon injection, your physiotherapist will carry out a thorough assessment to confirm that an injection is appropriate for you. They will explain the procedure, what to expect afterwards, and ensure the consent form is completed. You’ll also receive a patient information leaflet. Once everything is in place, your physiotherapist will perform the injection and provide tailored advice and a follow-up plan.
An Initial Assessment is designed for any new client that has pain or an injury. It will involve a thorough assessment and diagnosis of your problem. It may include using some of our VALD Technology and a biomechanical assessment if this is appropriate for your condition/injury. A treatment plan will be made, and you will be given advice and/or treatment during this appointment. This appointment is 60mins.
A Performance Initial Assessment is designed for new clients that are athletes, play sports or need to enhance their gym training. You may have an injury/pain, or you may wish to have a thorough assessment for injury prevention and optimise your training. It will involve a thorough assessment, including a biomechanical assessment, and use VALD Technology and Footscan analysis. This appointment is 120mins.
All new clients that require treatment need to have either an Initial Assessment or Performance Initial Assessment for their first appointment.
This appointment is specifically designed for clients interested in Gait Analysis or considering prescription orthotics.
Before your session, you’ll receive a Client Intake Form by email to complete electronically. If you have any issues with the form, don’t worry — we’ll go through it with you at your appointment.
During the assessment, your physiotherapist will:
We’ll walk you through the process and explain each step, so you understand exactly what we’re seeing and why it matters. You’ll have time to ask questions and discuss your results in detail.
If your assessment shows that orthotics would help, your physiotherapist will:
Orthotics Options
Phits™ Orthotics
Fit4U Orthotics (3D Printed On-Site)
Orthotics can be collected during a treatment session or at a free 15-minute fitting appointment.
Please Note
This appointment is an assessment only and does not include treatment. If your physiotherapist feels treatment would benefit you, this will be discussed during your session.
If you are a new client and think you may need a Hyaluronic Acid joint or tendon injection, please book an Initial Assessment. If you are an existing client, please book your usual treatment appointment. Please let us know by email or in the ‘Add notes’ section when booking online that you are interested in an injection. We will then assess suitability within your appointment and complete the injection within that appointment if appropriate. Alternatively, please call or email us to discuss and we can book the appointment for you.
Initial Assessments & Biomechanical Assessments last 60 minutes. Performance Initial Assessments last 120 minutes. Every client must have an Assessment first if they require treatment.
Treatment sessions are 30 minutes or 60 minutes. Your physiotherapist will advise which they feel is most appropriate based on your injury.
If you are using your Private Medical/Health insurance and the insurer pays us direct, then usually all appointments will be 30 minutes, including your initial assessment. The initial assessment will not include any treatment due to the length of the appointment. This will depend on which insurance company you are using, and we will advise you of this at booking.
Every client is different, and the number of sessions needed can vary depending on several factors — including your age, general health, fitness level, the nature of your injury, and how committed you are to attending sessions and completing your home exercise programme.
While many clients notice a significant improvement after their first session, we will discuss your individual situation with you during your initial appointment and provide an honest estimation based on your specific condition.
We won’t pressure you into a set number of sessions. If we feel you no longer need treatment, we’ll tell you. Likewise, if we believe you may benefit from further tests or imaging, we’ll write to your GP to request any necessary referrals.
